facelift

Do you look older than you feel? If you’re starting to see more advanced signs of aging in the face but still want to look young and vibrant, the solution could be a facelift. This procedure can turn back the clock on your appearance, helping you to look like you did years ago. Rediscover a younger looking you!

What Is a Facelift?

A facelift—also known as a rhytidectomy—is a surgical procedure that rejuvenates the lower face and neck. This procedure removes creases and improves overall tone from the nose to the corners of the mouth. Facelifts have traditionally tightened and removed excess skin, but modern facelifts create a more natural look by repositioning skin and tissues. You’ll look like you, only years younger.

A facelift can:

  • Remove excess skin from the face and neck.
  • Improve the appearance of jowls and/or double chins.
  • Smooth and eliminate deep wrinkles and creases.
  • Restore a more youthful facial appearance.
  • Lift sagging facial skin.

I’m Not Ready for a Full Facelift. What Are My Options?

Dr. Lee offers both full and mini-facelifts to his patients. If you have moderate signs of aging but aren’t yet ready for a full facelift, he might recommend a mini-facelift. This is a modified version of a facelift that is slightly less invasive due to smaller incisions. A mini-facelift provides stunning results and could possibly help you avoid a full facelift in years to come.

Patients with early signs of aging can rejuvenate their appearance without surgery using injectable treatments like BOTOX® and dermal fillers.

What’s Recovery Like After a Facelift?

Most patients return home the same day as their surgery (although some may need to spend the night at the hospital or surgery center). As your face will be heavily bandaged, you’ll need someone to help drive you home and provide care in the initial hours after your surgery. Dr. Lee recommends that you avoid all activity and rest with your head elevated. Bruising and swelling are common. Use a cold compress to reduce swelling.

After about a week, your discomfort should start to fade and you should be able to resume some daily activities. Most patients return to work about a week and a half after surgery. We’ll give you more information about your recovery period before your surgery.
